GUWAHATI: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning stating that isolated places in West Bengal, Sikkim and Assam are likely to witness thunderstorm and lightning on Thursday, May 23.

According to National Disaster Management Authority, heavy rain is predicted at isolated places over Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya.
The officials of the Regional Weather Forecasting Centre, Regional Meteorological Centre, Guwahati, informed that thunderstorm accompanied with squall (wind speed reaching 50-60 kmph) and lightning at isolated places very likely over Assam and Meghalaya.
