GUWAHATI: Assam's Housing and Urban Affairs Minister, Ashok Singhal, launched a web portal aimed at streamlining municipal services across the state on November 10.
The inauguration ceremony took place at Janata Bhawan, marking a significant step toward digital governance.
The newly launched portal, accessible at assamurban.in, consolidates the comprehensive database of the Housing and Urban Affairs Department and all municipal bodies in Assam.
This platform serves as a one-stop solution for citizens to access a myriad of online services.
Among the key features are seamless online property tax payments, swift trade license approvals, and e-services encompassing requests for drinking water supply connections, bookings for theatres and playgrounds, film shooting permits, and GPS tracking of municipal vehicles.
Furthermore, the portal introduces an online complaint filing and resolution mechanism.
The portal offers detailed insights into municipal bodies, presenting maps, demographics, information about mayors/chairpersons and ward members, assets, programme activities, tender details, and more.
