GUWAHATI: In Dakhin Tengaguri's New LP School in Morigaon district of Assam, a team of Khalsa Centre North East handed over a new building to Kamal Jyoti Gogoi, Morigaon District Elementary Education Officer (DEEO), on Sunday last, December 27. Capt PP Singh, Chairman Khalsa Centre, handed over the building.

Captain PP Singh, Chairman Khalsa Centre North East, addressing the large gathering at the function organised jointly by them, the villagers and the district administration, stated that they have been able to construct this brand new RCC building for the school due to inspiration and cooperation of the district administration, especially the earlier Deputy Commissioner (DC), Rituraj Bora and the DEEO, Kamal Jyoti Gogoi, besides the villagers and chairman of the school management committee, which is a perfect example of development not just for all but Development by All members of society.

Capt Singh further said that though they are based in Guwahati which is more than 100 kms from the site, their team made more than 15 trips to the school from the beginning and it was possible only with the help of a vehicle given to them by Airport Authority of India under their CSR programme.

Khalsa Centre has ensured that no one will sleep hungry in the region under their project of ‘Fight Against Hunger.’

PP Singh, a senior journalist who has been heading this organization for the last three years, informed that during lockdown they provided hot meals to more than three lakh people in 66 days at 70 different locations of Kamrup district and that their aim is to set up a community kitchen in Guwahati where hundreds of people sleep in the open even in extreme cold and give them food. For this, they have asked for land from the state government. It has been over six months now and there is still no revert.
