Assam: Kaziranga National Park Allows Exploration With Boats and Cycles

GUWAHATI: The Kaziranga National Park in Assam has allowed exploration of the park with boats and bicycles. The initiative has been done to exploit the tourism potential of the area.

This was informed to G Plus by Kaziranga Divisional Forest Officer (DFO), Romesh Gogoi. 


In November, the park authorities launched a boat safari at Bhomoraguri after the addition of 3,053 hectares to the park. As per the authorities, boat facilities are available from this site. Tourists can also see the river dolphins at a specific point from the boats. 
 

Along similar lines, bicycle facilities have been intiatied to explore the outer reaches of the park. The bicyles can be used to explore the area from the Karbi Anglong side.


The Kaziranga National Park and Tiger Reserve was reopened for tourists from October 21 onwards, after 8 months of being shut due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
