Assam: Kamrup Chamber of Commerce Calls for 3-Day Closure of Shops

GUWAHATI: The Kamrup Chamber of Commerce has requested the trading fraternity of the district to shut down their shops and offices for the next three days and remain under quarantine. 

"The cases of coronavirus is increasing in the city. For safety of everyone, all the business community, traders, offices and residences of the area mentioned below are requested to shut down their business establisments and offices with immediate effect for the next 3 days for the safety of the society and sanitization purpose," stated Mahavir Jain, President of Kamrup Chamber of Commerce. 

The areas are TRP Road, Kedar Road, MG Road,  HB Road,  Chamber Road, MS Road,  MM Road , SRCB Road and all internal roads connected to these areas. 

The chamber has also requested all to take care of their entire family members and employees for their safety.

"If necessary,  self check-up should be done of all the people living in this area. I also suggest please inform all the labourers of your shops to stay at their own homes and not to come to the market for work now tonight itself. They should also be advised to get themselves checked," said Mahavir Jain. 

Further, the chamber urged people to approach the neighbouring police station for solving the problems arising, if any.
