Assam: Jeep Safari In Kaziranga National Park Extended Till May 31

GUWAHATI: The jeep safari for visitors in the Kaziranga National Park (KNP) in Assam has been extended till May 31, 2022.

An official notification in this regard has been issued by the Office of the Division Officer Eastern Assam, Wildlife Division, Bokakhat.

“This Is for general information to all concerned that in partial modification of this Office Order No. 290 dated 26.04.2022 circulated vide Memo No. B.WLG/KNP Visit/2022/3223-49 dated 26.04.2022, the Jeep Safari in Kaziranga National Park is hereby extended up to 3, May, 2022 for the current tourist season 2021-22 in the interest of public service subject to the conditions of the road and further short notice to this effect,” the notification read.
 
From the April month onwards, only online bookings of jeep and elephant safaris were permitted in the Kaziranga National Park and Tiger Reserve in Assam.
 
Earlier, the new Director of Kaziranga National Park Jatin Sharma had told G Plus that there are about 500 jeeps and over 100 elephants involved in safaris.
