GUWAHATI: In a significant amendment, the General Administration Department of the Assam Government has issued a corrigendum to rectify discrepancies in the Holiday List for the year 2023. The rectifications pertain to the dates of various festivals and events as originally notified.

The corrections, detailed in the corrigendum, provide revised dates for several key festivals in line with various calendars. The rectifications include changes to the Tithi of Srimanta Sankardeva, Karam Puja, and Janmotsav of Srimanta Sankardeva.

The Tithi of Srimanta Sankardeva will now be observed on September 16 (Bhadra 25) instead of the previously announced August 18 (Sravan 27). Likewise, Karam Puja will now be celebrated on September 25 (Asvina 3) instead of the previous date of August 27 (Bhadra 5). Moreover, the Janmotsav of Srimanta Sankardeva has been preponed to September 24 (Asvina 2) from September 25 (Asvina 3).

The modifications rectify the previously mentioned dates and align them with the corrected details. The corrigendum aims to provide citizens, institutions, and all concerned parties with precise and reliable information for planning and observance of these festivals.
