GUWAHATI: One of the key decisions taken during the Assam Cabinet held Thursday, June 27, in Nalbari saw Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma bringing new implementations to strengthen the state education system.
Recognising the need for experienced teachers in Government schools, the Cabinet has approved a Special Recruitment Drive to transition SSA (Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan) contractual teachers and State Pool teachers into positions as regular teachers.
The existing service rules will be revised to allow experienced contractual teachers to transition into regular teaching positions in the LP & UP schools of the State. This initiative is expected to positively impact approximately 35,133 contractual teachers and State Pool teachers within the State.
