GUWAHATI: Two elderly men were saved from drowning in the Brahmaputra river in Jorhat by the Assam Police in coordination with Fire & Emergency services on June 28.

The incident happened at Nimatighat in Jorhat when a boat carrying the two men sank in the river, after which immediate efforts were taken up to rescue them.
A video of the incident was shared by the Assam Police on their official X handle on June 28, which showed two men stuck in the river.
“Incredible teamwork! @FnESAssam & SDRF conducted a heroic rescue operation, saving two men after their boat sank in the Brahmaputra River at Nimatighat, Jorhat. We remain committed to saving lives in these trying times," the Assam police said in a statement.
