Assam Govt to send 3000 Pilgrims to various Pilgrimage Places in India

GUWAHATI: Assam government is set to send 3000 pilgrims between the ages of 58 and 70 years from all over the state to different pilgrimage places within India.

This will be undertaken under the Punya Dham Yatra scheme 2019-20. As per an official intimation, the first batch of pilgrims will start their journey on January 19 by HVDK (Kamakhya-Katra) train.

State minister of tourism Chandan Brahma will flag off the journey at 10.30 am on January 19 at Kamakhya Railway Station.   

It is to be mentioned that the Punya Dham Yatra scheme was framed by the state government with an objective to conduct pilgrimage tours in India for senior citizens of Assam.
