Assam Govt Receives Over 2000 Emails from Indians Stranded Overseas

GUWAHATI: The Assam government has received over 2000 emails from Indian nationals stranded overseas so far.

In a Tweet, Chief Secretary of Assam, Kumar Sanjay Krishna wrote, "We have recd more than 2K emails from the Indian Nationals stranded overseas. These have been shared with the MEA. However, as per GoI SOP, all such people ARE TO register with their respective missions/embassies for their return journey. It’s a PREREQUISITE to begin the process."

Earlier, the Centre had laid down Standard Operating Protocols (SOP) for all people stranded outside India who want to come back.

Meanwhile, the ministry of external affairs has prepared a chart for the evacuation of over 14,000 Indian nationals stranded in 13 foreign countries by 64 flights in week 1 of the operation.
