GUWAHATI: The Assam government has approved the inclusion of Gaon Panchayat-level sports competitions under Khel Maharan 2.0, scheduled to take place between November 16 and November 21.

This event will take place across five districts in Assam; Cachar, Chirang, Bongaigaon, Biswanath, and Nagaon.
Organised by Assam’s Department of Sports and Youth Welfare, it aims to promote sportsmanship and youth engagement, operating in strict compliance with the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) guidelines.
To ensure a fair, non-political environment, the government has also barred the inclusion of any political functionaries in the events.
The Khel Maharan 2.0 aims to offer young athletes a platform to showcase their talent, contributing to Assam’s broader mission of fostering an active and engaged youth community.
