Assam Govt Announces Dry Days from April 16-18 for Phase 2 of LS Polls

GUWAHATI: For the ensuing Lok Sabha elections 2019, the Assam Government has prohibited possession of any intoxicants and total ban on the sale of liquor, distribution of spirituous, fermented or intoxicating liquors during all three phases of elections in Assam.

The Assam government has declared dry days for 48 hours from 5 PM when the campaign ends to the time when the polling concludes on a day for three phases of the Lok Sabha elections in the state.

In the second phase, Karimganj, Silchar, autonomous district, Mangaldoi and Nagaon constituencies will go to polls on April 18, 2019.

A dry day will also be in force on the day of counting on May 23.
