Assam Govt Allows Movement of Officials on Working Saturdays

GUWAHATI: Amid the on-going weekend lockdown in Assam, the state's Chief Secretary Kumar Sanjay Krishna via an order issued on August 28, Friday, permitted the movement of people on working Saturdays to and fro their places of work. 


In partial modification of the order dated August 13 (Unlock 3.0 in Assam), Sanjay Krishna announced that the movement of the officials and staff of state/central government departments including PSUs and Autonomous bodies, as well as banks and persons on essential services, shall be allowed to attend their office duties from 5 am to 9 pm on all the working Saturdays across the state.

On August 13, the Assam government had issued a set of unlock guidelines, aligning with the Centre's directives. 


Restrictions on the one-side streets were withdrawn, curfew timings were reduced and restaurants were allowed to operate. 


The Government stated that the revised rules will stay in effect till 9:30 pm of August 31.
