GUWAHATI: The Assam government on Wednesday approved the proposal for re-engaging 17 former employees of the Hindustan Paper Corporation Limited (HPCL).
The state cabinet made this decision during its weekly meeting.
Interacting with the media, state cabinet minister Jayanta Mallabaruah said, "The cabinet today approved the proposal for re-engagement of 17 former employees of HPCL in different departments of the State Government."
"These employees will be absorbed in various departments according to their qualification by condoning upper age limit," he added.
"We will conduct a special recruitment drive from the list sumitted by association of ex-employees and ex-workers' unions of HPCL," Mallabaruah further stated.
