Assam Government to pay Rs. 50000 to people who take Education Loans

GUWAHATI: With the Assam Budget currently underway, the State Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has set new benchmarks in terms of announcing sops and benefits to the people of the state.

“Spending under our Government has been setting new benchmarks each year, crossing Rs. 50,000 Crore mark for the first time in 2016-17 and achieving a new milestone in 2017-18, by crossing the Rs.60,000 Crore mark and within striking distance of Rs. 70,000 crore. This Budget is dedicated to each of 3 Crore & 30 lakhs population of our state, their happiness, health & positivity, and that no one suffers from the grief,” said Himanta at the budget.

One of these announcements included financial assistance of Rs. 50000 to people and students who have taken out education loans previously and or will choose to take it in the years to come. 

This has been done to encourage students to pursue higher education and to ease the financial burden of education loads.
