Assam Government Forms Sub-Committee To Accelerate Assam Accord Implementation

 

GUWAHATI: In a stride towards the effective execution of the Assam Accord's diverse provisions, the Government of Assam has established a Sub-Committee dedicated to crafting a comprehensive framework for their implementation.

The Sub-Committee, currently engaged in its deliberations, is expected to imminently finalise its report, paving the way for further strategic actions.

 

At a key meeting held at Janata Bhawan, senior officials from multiple government departments convened to deliberate on the progress achieved and ongoing initiatives pertaining to the Assam Accord's implementation.

Notable attendees included representatives from the Home & Political, Education, Industries, Commerce & Public Enterprises, Cultural Affairs, Tribal Affairs, Women & Child Development, Social Justice & Empowerment, and Forest & Environment departments. The meeting's purpose was to facilitate comprehensive discussions on the accomplishments and ongoing endeavours of these departments aligned with the Assam Accord's mandates.

Among the attendees were Ashok Barman, Special Secretary of the Implementation of Assam Accord (IAA) Department, GS Panesar, Secretary of the IAA Department, Dr. Lakshmanan S, Secretary of the Industries, Commerce & Public Enterprises Department, Parthapratim Majumdar, Secretary of the Home & Political Department, and other distinguished officials representing relevant departments.

This was announced by State Minister, Atul Bora, on Twitter on Tuesday.
