Assam: First-Of-Its-Kind High Performance Sports Training Centre Inaugurated In Jorhat

 

GUWAHATI: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma officially inaugurated a High-Performance Sports Training Centre in Jorhat on October 12. This facility is the first of its kind in the state and aims to provide advanced sports training and rehabilitation services for athletes.

The High-Performance Sports Training Centre in Jorhat is the result of a collaborative effort involving the Assam Government, Abhinav Futuristics, Oil India Limited, and Numaligarh Refinery Limited. It is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and advanced sports technology to cater to the needs of athletes from Assam.

The centre's primary objective is to support athletes by offering scientific assessments, physiotherapy, and rehabilitation services. It will also focus on the conditioning and training of athletes, ensuring their mental and physical well-being through the utilisation of advanced equipment for data-driven assessment and training.

This pioneering centre houses various specialised labs, including a Motion Analysis Lab, Gait and Biomechanics Lab, Para-Athletes Performance Lab, Biomechanics and Postural Lab, among others.

The comprehensive range of facilities at the High-Performance Sports Training Centre includes high-performance sports training, injury management, physiological and biomechanical assessment, nutritional assessment and support, psychological assessment and support, recovery services such as cryotherapy, Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT), and massage therapy, among others.
