GUWAHATI: The incumbent Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA Siddhartha Bhattacharya is leading against the Congress candidate Ashima Bordoloi by 4,769 votes in the Gauhati East constituency.
The counting of votes for Assam Legislative Assembly Elections 2021 is currently underway.
Adip Kumar Phukan from Assam Jatiya Parishad (AJP) is in third place from Gauhati East.
During the 2016 Assembly elections, Siddhartha Bhattacharya had defeated the Congress candidate Bobbeeta Sharma by 96,637 votes.
