Assam: Educational Institutions and Public Hubs to Remain Closed Till 29 March

GUWAHATI: The Government of Assam has declared all schools, colleges and universities closed till 29th March as a measure to combat coronavirus.

In a press conference held at the Veterinary College Ground, Khanapara, the Chief Secretary, Kumar Sanjay Krishna has announced that all educational institutions, and cinema halls, gyms, swimming pools in the state are to remain closed till 29th of this month.

Further, all exams except the on-going CBSE and SEBA board exams have been called off.

Earlier, the Government had notified all educational institutions not to hold any morning assembly. Exhibitions and excursions have also been asked to call off as a preventive measure against the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), which is highly contagious and have affected a large section of the population globally.
