GUWAHATI: A major reshuffle has been announced in the State Level Police Recruitment Board (SLPRB), Assam. Director-General of Police (DGP), Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta has been appointed as the new chairman of the police recruitment board.
Additional Director General of Assam Police (ADGP) Harmeet Singh is the new Member Secretary, with ADGP LR Bishnoi and Inspector General Hiren Nath as the members of the recruitment body.
Earlier, retired IPS officer, Pradip Kumar who had been holding the post of the Chairman of SLPRB for years, had resigned over the issue of the Assam Sub-Inspector (SI) exam paper leak.
Chief Minister of Assam Sarbananda Sonowal, reconstituting the recruitment board, has also directed the SI examinations to be held by the 20th of November.
