Assam Declares November 19 As 'Bir Raghav Moran Divas' Holiday

GUWAHATI: The Assam Cabinet has approved a Restricted Holiday (RH) on November 19, 2024, for the State Government employees to commemorate 'Bir Raghav Moran Divas,' recognising the contributions of Bir Raghav Moran to the Moran community.

The restricted holiday will apply to State Government employees, allowing them to participate in various commemorative activities and events dedicated to Bir Raghav Moran's legacy. The decision also follows a request from the Assam Moran Sabha and Sadou Moran Satra Santha, reflecting the community's long-standing desire to honour their historical hero.

Furthermore, the Cabinet has approved amendments to the Assam Industrial and Investment Policy (2024) and the Assam Start-up Policy (2018). 

These amendments to startup aindustrial and investment policy were taken for industrial development and enhance support for entrepreneurship in the state.
