Assam Cricket Association donates Rs. 50 lakhs to Government

GUWAHATI: The Assam Cricket Association donated a total of Rs. 50,00,000 to the Government of Assam to help tide over the various crisis situations faced by the state like the pandemic and the flood.

On 13th August, members of the association, comprising of President Romen Dutta, Vice President Porikshit Dutta, Secretary Devajit Saikia and Treasurer Tridib Konwar met Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal to brief him on the various infrastructural development activities undertaken by the ACA in the last six months. They also informed about the association's decision to revive cricket in Assam from September onwards.

The team met health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma the following day on 14th August to discuss the same.

On both occasions ACA handed over cheques of Rs. 25,00,000 each to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund and to Arogya Nidhi Assam respectively.

They requested for further infrastructural development so that future IPL and T-20 World Cup matches can be played in the state.
