Assam COVID-19: 1,277 Patients Discharged in 24 Hours, State Positive Tally at 40,269

GUWAHATI: 1,277 patients have been discharged from across the state of Assam as per health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma's latest tweet at 11:10 pm on July 31.

"So gratifying to see so many patients recovering & returning to their families! Wonderful work by doctors indeed," the minister along with the update.

Meanwhile, on July 31 1,862 COVID-19 cases were detected out of 38324 tests in 24 hours. The positivity rate remains at 4.85% as tweeted by the health minister. 

Out of the 1,862 positive cases, 281 are from Kamrup (M),  202 from Kamrup (R), 140 from Cachar, 129 from Sonitpur, 117 from Dibrugarh, 114 from Nagaon and 105 from Jorhat.

Assam has so far had 40,269 total COVID-19 positive cases of which 30,357 have been discharged and 9,811 are currently active.

98 people have succumbed to the illness in the state so far.
