The Hojai District Additional Sessions’ Court of Assam, on February 10, awarded death sentence to a man for the rape and murder of four year old girl child.

The culprit, one Vikram Harijan alias Chandan was accused of the rape and subsequent murder of the minor on February 26, 2020. He was convicted under Section 376 (A), 302 of the Indian Penal Code, and Section 6 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
The judgment was delivered by Justice Chena Baya Deuri after a trial extending two months.
