Assam CM, Sarbananda Sonowal speaks up on the state’s Safety and Security

GUWAHATI: Assam’s Chief Minister, Sarbananda Sonowal has broken his silence on the state’s safety and security. He said that he has no intention to betray his people. 

He spoke at an event in Nagaon’s Neherubali area and said that he is working towards the safety and security of the people of Assam along with the various ministers and MLAs of the state. He said that he has not taken up the responsibility of being a chief minister “just for power.”

He also expressed his concerns on the implementation of Clause 6 of the Assam Accord and urged people to have faith in the government. He added that none of the previous state governments had implemented or tried to implement it. However, now everyone is trying to disrupt the present government. 

He also emphasised the All Assam Students Union (AASU) and said that he respects the organisation as he also comes from the same platform. He concluded by saying that people have made him a CM with a lot of trusts and he will not betray their trust.
