Assam CM Meets SAKP Delegation To Discuss Government Employees' Benefits And Reforms

GUWAHATI: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma met with a delegation from the newly elected committee of the Sadou Asam Karmachari Parishad (SAKP) at Janata Bhawan on Saturday, January 11. The meeting focused on finalising key decisions aimed at improving the welfare of the state’s government employees.

Among the decisions made were the proposed amendments to the service rules, which aim to modernise and streamline employee regulations. The Apun Ghar housing scheme will also be enhanced to provide better housing options for government workers. Additionally, discussions led to a decision to review the retirement age for government employees to adapt to the changing workforce dynamics.

Another major decision was the introduction of cashless treatment facilities at health institutions for government employees and their dependents, ensuring better healthcare support for the state's workforce.

The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary Ravi Kota, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister KK Dwivedi, and senior government officials, alongside the newly elected members of the Sadou Asam Karmachari Parishad.
