Assam CM Flags Off Two Boats In Guwahati To Benefit Senior Citizens And Children

GUWAHATI: Assam Chief Minister (CM) Himanta Biswa Sarma on Friday, May 13, flagged off two steel catamaran vessels at Inland Water Transport (IWT) Ghat in Guwahati. This was done in order to further boost river tourism in the Brahmaputra.

Each vessel has a capacity of 100 passengers and 50 motorcycles.

Additionally, the catamaran ships will have special features for divyangs, women and children.

The Assam Chief Minister further tweeted, “Ferry For All!

Happy to have laid the foundation stone of Guwahati Gateway Ferry Terminal at IWT Ghat, Guwahati today.

To be built at the cost of ₹289 cr, it will have special facilities for specially abled, senior citizens, women & children.
