GUWAHATI: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has announced the upcoming launch of a mobile application designed to address the issue of damaged roads across the state. Speaking during a Facebook Live session, he explained that the app will enable citizens to report bad roads directly to Public Works Department (PWD) officials, allowing for swift action to repair potholes and improve road conditions.

The app is set to be introduced in five major cities—Guwahati, Tezpur, Jorhat, Dibrugarh, and Silchar—in its initial phase. Sarma further added that the initiative will be operational by April or May this year, with plans to expand its jurisdiction to other areas over time.
The chief minister also conveyed his condolences following a tragic coal mine accident in Umrangso, Dima Hasao. He assured that the state government would provide adequate relief to the families of the deceased miners and reassured strict action against those involved in illegal mining activities in the quarry.
