Assam CM Among India’s Top 10 Richest Chief Ministers

 

Sarma declared total assets worth ₹17.27 crore, placing him among the top 10 richest chief ministers in the country

GUWAHATI: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has been ranked as the ninth richest chief minister in India.

According to a report released by the Association of Democratic Reforms (ADR) on Monday, December 30, the data has been sourced from the affidavits submitted by the chief ministers to the Election Commission of India (ECI).

Sarma declared total assets worth ₹17.27 crore, placing him among the top 10 richest chief ministers in the country. He has also disclosed liabilities amounting to ₹3.51 crore in his affidavit.

The list is topped by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, who declared assets worth ₹931 crore. Following him are Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu, with assets of ₹332 crore, and Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, who occupies the third spot with ₹51 crore.

Among Northeastern leaders, apart from Sarma, Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu ranks second nationally, making him the wealthiest chief minister from the region. Additionally, Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma features on the list with total assets worth ₹16.48 crore.
