GUWAHATI: The Assam team delivered a commendable performance at the 26th North East Zone Sport Climbing Championship, securing four medals across various events. The competition, held in Roing, saw participation from athletes across the region.

Amanjita Barman led the team’s medal tally, winning two gold and one bronze medal. Bipul Sarma added to the tally by clinching a silver medal in the Bouldering, Lead, and Speed Climbing events.
Both climbers have earned spots on the North East Zone team and will represent the region at the National Sport Climbing Championship in Bangalore, scheduled from January 18 to 20, 2025.
The Assam Rock Sports Climbing Association (ARSCA) has extended congratulations to the athletes and expressed hope for strong performances at the upcoming national-level event.
