GUWAHATI: Assam Chamber of Commerce and Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) observed a ‘peaceful dharna’ programme at Christan basti on Monday.
This programme is simultaneously observed in other states and union territories, jointly by CAIT and others trade bodies of the respective state and union territories.
Four points raised by the organisations:
1) Opposing the acquisition of Flipkart by Walmart.
2) Simplification of GST.
3) Abolishing Individual Income tax.
4) Introduction of pension for entrepreneur.
Later a delegation of the Guwahati District committee of Assam Chamber of Commerce submitted two separate memorandums to the honourable chief minister of Assam and the honourable prime minister of India through the deputy commissioner.
A press release from Assam Chamber of commerce states that more such peaceful programme will be taken up in the near future for fulfilment of the said demands.
