GUWAHATI: The Assam Cabinet, in a meeting held on Thursday, December 19, has approved the construction of 14 rural road projects across six districts in the state at an estimated cost of ₹81 crore. This initiative aims to enhance rural connectivity, facilitating better access to basic services and promoting economic development in these areas.

Additionally, the Cabinet has approved modifications to the villages under the Sonowal Kachari Autonomous Council. The changes include the inclusion of "Sonowal part" in some of the notified villages.
This decision is expected to address infrastructure gaps and foster inclusive growth in Assam.
