GUWAHATI: A joint operation conducted by Assam’s Sonitpur Police and a commando team from the Dehkiajuli Police Station led to the recovery of explosives in the Rubber Bagan jungle on Thursday, December 19.

Acting on reliable information about the underground storage of illegal arms, the search team discovered five hand grenades and five detonators buried and wrapped in a polythene bag.
Following standard legal procedures, the explosives were seized and transported to the Dhekiajuli Police Station after completing all formalities.
The seized items are currently in safe custody as further investigation is underway to determine the source of the explosives.
