GUWAHATI: The Assam cabinet has sanctioned ₹250 crore towards the Assam Cancer Care Foundation (ACCF) to accelerate ongoing developments of cancer care centres in the state.

Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma revealed this on his X handle following the state cabinet meeting held on Saturday, April 12.
Under the ACCF, 16 cancer centres will come into operations across Assam. Of these, nine have already been completed. The sanctioned funds will be utilised to continue construction and operational readiness of the remaining seven centres across various districts.
In a related development, the cabinet also approved the formation of 10 new co-districts, aimed at improving local governance and public service delivery across the state.
