Assam Budget 2025-26: ₹7,481 Crore Allocated For Infrastructure Projects

GUWAHATI: The Assam government has unveiled ₹7,481 crore infrastructure development plan in the 2025 state budget, covering key sectors such as roads, healthcare, education, sports, and urban development.

A major highlight is the "One District One Road" initiative under Asom Mala, which aims to develop 25 km of roads in each district at a total cost of ₹2,625 crore. Other significant allocations include:

- New Assembly Building & MLA Hostel in Dibrugarh – ₹200 crore
- Medical College in Darrang – ₹582 crore
- Kanaklata University – ₹400 crore
- New High Court Building at Rangmahal – ₹405 crore
- Nehru Stadium FIFA Centre – ₹675 crore
- Agriculture College in Karbi Anglong – ₹206 crore
- Veterinary College in Karbi Anglong – ₹374 crore
- Sainik School in Karbi Anglong – ₹375 crore
- 17 Permanent Office Buildings in New Co-Districts – ₹331 crore
- State-of-the-Art Sports Stadium in Kokrajhar – ₹108 crore
- Flyover in Silchar Municipal Town (Phase 1) – ₹700 crore
- Natural History Museum Project in Panbari, Golaghat – ₹500 crore
