Assam Budget 2025-26: Guwahati’s Tech City Gets ₹56 Cr For 5G Experience & 3D Printing Centres

 

GUWAHATI: Assam is making significant strides in digital transformation, with a ₹56 crore allocation to strengthen e-governance and technology-driven services. This was announced by Finance Minister Ajanta Neog in her budget speech on Monday, March 10.

At the heart of this initiative is Tech City, Guwahati, which now houses a 5G Experience Centre showcasing cutting-edge applications in healthcare, oil & gas, agriculture, and handicrafts using augmented and virtual reality (AR/VR).

Additionally, a 3D Printing Centre of Excellence has been established under the PM-DeVINE scheme, further boosting Assam’s technology and innovation ecosystem. In education, Virtual Reality (VR) labs are being introduced in schools to offer immersive, interactive learning experiences.
