Assam Budget 2025-26: 32 Lakh SHG Members To Receive Entrepreneurship Fund Of ₹10,000 

 

GUWAHATI: The Assam government will launch Mukhya Mantri Mahila Udyamita Abhiyaan (MMUA), a self-employment scheme, to enhance financial independence among women and strengthen grassroots entrepreneurship across Assam. The MMUA will be launched on April 1.

Making the announcement in the state budget 2025-26, which she presented in the assembly on Monday, March 10, Assam Finance Minister Ajanta Neog said ₹3,038 crore has been allocated for MMUA. It aims to empower around 30 lakh Self-Help Group (SHG) members in rural areas and 2 lakh members in urban areas. Each beneficiary will receive an Entrepreneurship Fund of ₹10,000 as seed capital. Additionally, those who successfully utilise the fund will be eligible for a ₹25,000 loan through bank linkage, with the government providing a subsidy on the loan amount.
