Assam Budget 2024-25: ₹3250 Crore Allocated For GMCH, ₹100 Crore For Deepor Beel Rejuvenation Among Other Projects

GUWAHATI: The Assam government announced the budgetary allocation for various projects in the state with a commitment to completing all these projects within three years.

The list of projects, along with their estimated costs, are:

•    Maa Kamakhya Divyaloka Pariyojan - Estimated Cost: ₹498 crore
•    Infrastructure development of Guwahati Medical College & Hospital (GMCH) - Estimated Cost: ₹3250 crore
•    Renovation of Nehru Stadium into World-Class Sports Arena - Estimated Cost: ₹832 crore
•    Modernization of Assam State Zoo, Guwahati - Estimated Cost: ₹311 crore
•    Kanaklata University, Gohpur - Estimated Cost: ₹554 crore
•    Modern campus for Gauhati High Court at Rang Mahal, North Guwahati (Including land acquisition) - Estimated Cost: ₹110 crore + ₹300 crore
•    Kaziranga Natural History Museum - Estimated Cost: ₹886 crore
•    Rejuvenation of Deepor Beel - Estimated Cost: ₹100 crore

With the exception of the Maa Kamakhya Divyaloka Pariyojana, all projects will be undertaken under the Standard Operating Procedure for Development (SOPD). The government has promised sufficient budgetary allocations made in the current fiscal year.
