Assam Budget 2018: Guwahati as Start-up Hub for Eastern India

The Assam government has envisaged Guwahati as a start-up hub for the eastern region of the country.

With the aim to provide a platform to the entrepreneurs of the region, the Assam government has proposed to set up a state of the art incubation centre named “Assam Hub” at Ambari, Guwahati. The incubation centre will be equipped with end to end innovation ecosystem with facilities like plug and play work spaces, high speed internet connectivity, conference rooms, access to monitors and investors, legal and regulatory guidance, etc.

Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced during the Assam Budget 2018 that the Assam government is implementing a start-up policy in the state “Assam Start-up Policy, 2017” under which start-ups will be provided both fiscal and non fiscal incentives.
