GUWAHATI: 11 players from Assam represented the State in the 15th GFI National Grappling Championship 2022 and won 9 medals.
The players represented the Assam Team in Grappling Gi and Grappling No-Gi category and secured 2 gold, 2 silver and 5 bronze medals.
The Championship was held at Rishikul Vidyapith School in Sonipath, Haryana from August 18 to 21. The event was organized by the Grappling Federation of India and was hosted by the Grappling Association of Haryana.
The medals were won by:
Gold Medals: Akom kuken ligu (-58 kg), Techi Karda Tara (-58 kg)
Silver Medal: Afrid Rahman (-58 kg), Manavendra Kalita (-54)
Bronze Medals (No-Gi): Jitul Jyoti Mohonto (-77 kg), Krishna Kumar Chomal, Dibakar Nath (-71), Afrid Rahman (-58 kg), Hirak Jyoti Rabha
