GUWAHATI: The body of a man was discovered by local residents in Sonapur, near Guwahati on Monday.
According to preliminary information, the body was found in the vicinity of Moupur in Sonapur area yesterday.
The deceased individual has since been identified as Robin Bahadur Thapa.
The Sonapur Police responded to the scene upon being alerted and secured the area and initiate the necessary procedures.
The police officials from Sonapur Police Station have informed G Plus that Thapa had been employed at a beer manufacturing factory situated in Byrnihat.
The police official also stated that Thapa had been missing since the last five days after he went for a bath to the nearby Digaru River.
An investigation has been initiated to ascertain the cause of his death.
