GUWAHATI: The Chief Minister of Assam, Himanta Biswa Sarma, is set to inaugurate the newly constructed Assam Bhawan in Vellore, Tamil Nadu, on September 26.
This announcement was made by Cabinet Minister Ranjeet Kumar Dass, who conveyed the news via a post on Twitter.
Dass shared the details, stating, "On September 26th, the HCM Dr. @himantabiswa will grace the official inauguration of the newly constructed "Assam Bhavan" in Vellore, Tamil Nadu, where I shall be honoured to be part of this momentous occasion. In this regard, I've arrived in Chennai after paying tributes to Swahid Madan Barman and Swahid Rautaram Koch on their Smriti Divas at Patacharkuchi."
The Assam Bhawan in Vellore will offer a sanctuary for patients and their families, especially for individuals battling cancer during their treatment. The project cost is ₹23 crore.
The total built-up area is 4,340 square metres. The facility consists of a ground floor, service floor and six additional floors.
The 1st Floor will boast of a reception, dining hall, kitchen, store room and lobby. The 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 6th Floors will have two BHK Apartments, an Office for the Joint Resident Commissioner, 40 double-bed rooms, 2 VIP/VVIP Suites, one seven-bed female dormitories, three five-bed male dormitories and three four-bed rooms.
The ground floor will house an emporium, drivers' room, common toilet and electrical room. The service floor will include a staff dormitory, two single-bed rooms, two common toilets and a PWD Office.
