GUWAHATI: The Assam Police is in the process of arresting admins of a number of Facebook pages from Assam who are continuously posting abusive, derogatory as well as fake posts on social media.
The state administration has already identified some of the admins of these Facebook pages.

According to media reports, Commissioner of Police, Guwahati, Deepak Kumar said that a case has been registered under IPC 505 by family members of Assamese actor, Nipon Goswami, who filed a complaint after news of the actor's death started doing the rounds on the popular social media network.
Thus, police authorities will arrest the administrators of these Facebook pages at the earliest.
