Assam: Ayurvedic Hospital Inaugurated In Goalpara

GUWAHATI: A 50-bed Ayurvedic Hospital was inaugurated in Dudhnoi, Goalpara on Thursday.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by the Union Minister of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, as well as the Minister for Ayush (Ayurveda, Yoga & Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, and Homoeopathy), Sarbananda Sonowal.

This hospital marks the second of its kind to be opened in Assam in less than a month, following the establishment of a similar facility in Majuli. The Dudhnoi Ayurvedic Hospital is well-equipped with a range of state-of-the-art facilities, including a modern laboratory, a Panchakarma centre, an infertility clinic, a yoga unit, and both outpatient (OPD) and inpatient (IPD) services.

During his address at the inauguration, Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal emphasised on the ancient heritage of Ayurveda, which has been a source of healing for humanity for millennia. He expressed his delight at the prospect of the people of Dudhnoi and the surrounding areas benefiting from India's rich tradition of Ayurveda.

Furthermore, the Union Minister affirmed that additional Ayush healthcare infrastructure will be developed in Assam to meet the increasing demand for robust healthcare services.

In a bid to harness the potential of medicinal herbs for Ayurvedic products, a medicinal herbs garden featuring rare medicinal plants will be established within the premises of the newly inaugurated hospital.
