GUWAHATI: As the Bogibeel bridge over Brahmaputra river is set to be inaugurated today, the Assam State Transport Corporation (ASTC) will launch 10 new bus services which will increase connectivity to different locations.
The bus services will ply over the Bogibeel bridge and will cut short the travel time between the north and south banks of the Brahmaputra river. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the bridge on Tuesday, December 25. It is India’s longest rail-cum-road bridge which will connect Dibrugarh to Dhemaji.
Prior to this, commuters had to rely on ferry services and mechanised boats which were deemed as unsafe modes of transport.

The new bus services by ASTC will connect the following destinations:
1. Jonai to Jayrampur
2. Gohpur to Jagun
3. Pasighat to Namsai
4. Jonai to Dibrugarh
5. Jonai to Dibrugarh
6. Dhakuwakhana to Dibrugarh
7. Bihpuria to Dibrugarh
8. Mulukgaon to Silapathar
9. Dibrugarh to Pasighat
10. Namrup to Biswanath Chariali
