GUWAHATI: The Assam Cabinet, in its key decisions on December 1, 2023, has announced an ambitious plan for the comprehensive development of Tinsukia and its constituencies.
Tinsukia Local Assembly Constituency (LAC):
The Tinsukia District Stadium is set to undergo a major beautification project with an allocation of ₹50 crore. Additionally, a multi-level car parking facility in Thana Chariali, an Inter-State Bus Terminal (ISBT) near Tinsukia bypass, and a modern truck terminal as part of a logistics hub are among the transformative projects planned.
The development agenda extends to the construction of a flyover near Tinsukia Medical College, enhancements to Napukhuri Park, and the creation of Bordoloi Nagar Park. Infrastructure improvements include the construction of an underpass in Rongagora Road and a 4-lane crossing.
The Tinsukia Flyover near Napukhuri will also see development and strengthening measures.
Chabua LAC:
Chabua will witness the widening, strengthening, and beautification of the road from Court Tiniali to DC office to Guru Teg Bahadur School, along with drainage facilities for Borguri Industrial Park.
Doomdooma LAC:
Doomdooma is slated for the establishment of a Sports Complex-cum-Stadium at Doomdooma College and an Indoor Stadium-cum-Multipurpose Building at Doomdooma Town Field. Infrastructure enhancements include an RCC Bridge over Doomdooma river and a Road Overbridge in Doomdooma town.
Margherita LAC:
Margherita is set to experience road development and strengthening from Margherita to Changlang Gate connecting Changlang District HQ, and from Margherita to Namtok Gate (now Arunachal Pradesh). The construction of Jagun Kathasema-Tekeri Brahmajan Road with a bridge over the Buridehing river is also on the agenda.

Digboi LAC:
Digboi will witness the creation of a Multipurpose Centre and Indoor Stadium with a swimming pool in Tingrai, drainage facilities from Digboi Chariali to Borbil (2 km), and a master drain in Makum town.
Sadiya LAC:
Sadiya is in line for the Bir Lachit Stadium at Chapakhowa, an Indoor stadium with a swimming pool at Kakopather, development of Bura-Buri Than, and the construction of the Bhupen Hazarika statue-cum-park near Bhupen Hazarika Setu. Electrification of Amarpur through the grid is also a priority.
