Assam: Action Taken Against 25 Students In Dibrugarh University Over Ragging, 18 Expelled From Hostel

GUWAHATI: The Anti-Ragging Committee (ARC) of the Dibrugarh University held a meeting today, November 28 in light of the ragging incident that occurred on November 27. The committee took necessary actions against a total of twenty-five students and eighteen students were expelled from the hostel involved in the ragging of Ananda Sarma, a student in the first semester at Dibrugarh University.

One student, identified as Kamal Krishna Kakoti has been barred from appearing for the ensuing end-semester examinations with immediate effect for having been found to be involved in the incident of ragging at the Padmanath Gohain Baruah Chatra Nivas (PNGBCN) of the Dibrugarh University campus. 

The following six students and boarders at Dibrugarh University were suspended from the hostel and have also temporarily been suspended from attending classes and academic privileges with immediate effect till the completion of the enquiry. The enquiry will be conducted by the ARC for alleged involvement in the incident of ragging.

4. Subhrajit Baruah. 
5. Niranjon Thakur.
6. Kalyan Dutta. 

The following eighteen students have been expelled from the hostel with immediate effect for being involved in several cases of ragging.
