GUWAHATI: Romisha Khatun, a 16-year old from Chapor area of Dhubri district of Assam lost her life from COVID-19.

She was a student of class 10 and was set to appear for board exams next year.

Khatun complained of stomach problems and was taken to a private hospital initially.

G Plus spoke to the family members who revealed, "we took her to the Goalpara hospital later and she was tested positive there."

The family was planning to decide where to put her in quarantine.

Soon, she started having breathing problems and vomiting. Following this, Romisha finally succumbed to the virus.

"This is a very difficult situation for us to take as she couldn't even get the proper treatment. She was healthy all this while," said her grandfather.

Romisha's death comes after a 14-year-old girl from Nagaon succumbed to COVID-19 infections earlier this week, becoming one of the youngest victims of the dreaded virus in Assam.
