ASDMA to Provide Online Training to 'Pratirodhi Bondhus'

GUWAHATI: Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA) along with Common Service Center Scheme (CSCs) has formed a cadre of volunteers across the state called 'Pratirodhi Bondhu'. 

More than 14,000 volunteers have joined the initiative, amongst them sportsters like Shiva Thapa, Golap Rabha and Riyan Parag.

The 'Bondhus' are spreading awareness about government advisories nearby areas, mostly in rural and semi-rural areas.

Further there are counselling and providing  emotional support to the vulnerable sections of society and working as sentinels of social distancing and hygiene.

The volunteers will also be helping the local administration in managing flood situation and setting up relief camps.

By facilitating services under the e-Help platform of ASDMA, they are acting as bridge between local people and the administration.
